Tree/Neighbor question of the week

Big storms rolled through yesterday afternoon and a 60-70 foot tree on my neighbor's property fell almost directly between on our houses. Couple of large limbs did some damage to his house, but ours appears to have escaped without damage. Some debris and one large limb laying across my deck and obviously the trunk/limbs on both our yards.

He's also out of town this week. I let him know what had happened and sent a couple pictures. My question is do I need to wait to start removing the limbs off my deck/fence for him to have his insurance come out and document, and then get a crew of his/his insurance's choosing to remove the tree (plus hopefully all the limbs, etc. on my property)?
